Sole e Luna
That’s the name of Dad’s brew bar–a coffee and wine shop on Main Street in Cape Eden. It’s open seven days a week, which means he practically lives there, and I don’t blame him because his coffee is amazing. Rich and robust but never bitter and every variation you can imagine. And the wine he serves is equally great, but if you asked anyone in town, it’s the coffee that makes them come in often.
The name, Sole e Luna, means sun and moon in Italian. He used to call Mom his sole e luna, or so I’ve been told. I don’t remember my folks at that level of happiness. I was ten when she left us to pursue an acting career in Hollywood. But this isn’t about that. Dad also called me sole e luna for a while and even his “sun, moon, and stars”, but after opening the brew bar, he switched my nickname to Twinkle.
Do you get it?
Sun and moon. People drink coffee in the mornings and wine at night. Granted, people drink coffee all day long, and Dad starts serving wine after lunch, but it’s still a great name.
So if you’re ever in Cape Eden, up in New England, make sure you drive down Main Street and stop at Sole e Luna. Ask for Frank Moretti and tell him that you heard of the place from Logan’s blog. Then order a coffee and come back and tell me it’s the best you’ve ever had.
Go on. I’ll wait! 😉
